The game is entertaining but much too short. It is clearly not meant to be played by an adult but maybe a 10-year-old or something. I’ve noticed that most of the downloadable games that cost $6.99 are all short. I think they should cost less or last longer than 2 hours for $6.99. OR Amazon could have a deal where if you buy 3 downloadable games you get one free. You like that idea, don’t you? Of course, you do. You also think that Amazon should hire me as a work-from-home consultant.

This game is great. If you just love mixed quizzes, find-its and suspense, then this is the game for you. In fact, I think this is the game for everybody. I loved it. A whole story and it’s not like a common game. It’s not find-it, find-it, find-it. There are other things with find-its. I would not suggest this for a young kid. The graphics are great, and when a cursed room changes it is amazing. I would strongly suggest getting this game. Just not for little kids. It can be scary.

Hidden-object games aren’t my favorite; for instance I’ve played the highly rated Ravenhearst and didn’t understand why people liked it so much. This game makes the challenge more interesting with (simple) puzzles sprinkled throughout instead of just a mind-numbing trek through one seek and find picture to the next. The ending is actually rather difficult with a Zuma type shoot-the-marbles game into a battle against a computer opponent. While I swore all the way through it, it did make the finale much more satisfying once it was completed.
The premise is simple, you’re a princess (named Isabella, strangely enough) who has returned to her castle to find it taken over by a (wait for it…) witches curse. You travel from room to room finding objects with the help of a fairy similar to Tinkerbell who helps you along the way. She almost helps too much by explaining what needs to be done to each puzzle in order to solve it. Once puzzles are solved you search for mirror pieces to put together jigsaw puzzle style. Once a mirror is completed, a castle member is “released” and gives you an additional item to help you in your journey.
I think the game would have been much more challenging if we were left to figure things out on our own as Tinkerbell’s help makes the game is rather easy. The seek and find puzzles aren’t extremely challenging as many of the items you are looking for are in plain sight. Still, there were enough puzzles to take a couple days to solve all the way through. I estimate about 10-15 hours of play for a reasonably sharp-eyed individual. There are around 30 different rooms you have to search through; two floors of a castle, a garden, a stable, and a tower. Some of the rooms have multiple puzzles. If hidden-object games are your game of choice, you will find a lot to like in here and it’s recommended.
Finally, if you do like this game and are looking for a similar challenge, I also recommend The Scruffs.

Princess Isabella: A Witch’s Curse was a surprisingly fun game to play. It’s not a mindless “find hidden objects” game at all – there are a variety of puzzles to solve, mirror pieces to find and reassemble, objects to find and use in different rooms, and you even get to burn and break things. Not surprisingly, the game is comparatively short, easily completed in just two or three hours, but that is par for the course in this genre of games.
You take on the role of Princess Isabella, who returns to her castle to find that the whole place has been cursed by an evil witch – and the prince you are all set to marry has apparently been captured by the witch, as well. Fortunately, a little fairy managed to escape and is now there to help you remove the witch’s curse room by room. The transformation of each cleared room from a scene of darkened neglect to opulent glory really is something to behold. Along your way, you’ll find informative bits of your mother’s diary and glean critical information from castle denizens as you manage to free them from the witch’s spell.
This is a game that both adults and children can enjoy. The “hidden object” puzzles are relatively easy, but some of the other puzzles require a little bit of thought (and may prove frustrating to young players). Fear not, though, because the fairy is always available to give you hints and even to solve some of the tougher puzzles for you. There’s really no incentive to replay the game once you’re done, but Princess Isabella: A Witch’s Curse is definitely one of the better Hidden Object Adventure games out there.

This is my favorite game that I have downloaded on Amazon. The puzzles required thought, but were solvable. Some took me a little while to figure out, but I never had to resort to Internet cheats. The were a great many location and scenes. Each room/area of the manor had a hidden object component and at least one puzzle. The puzzles were not repetitious and came in many varieties. The storyline was creative but not filled with useless heavy dialog. The manor was a confusing set of hallways and rooms, but that added to the fun as you had to go back with a new object in your inventory so that you could complete a prior puzzle. One of the features that I really enjoyed was the “Area Clear” notice that came after you completed the puzzles and found all the hidden objects and other inventory items in a room. You could immediately see which rooms were complete and which rooms still required your attention. My only complaint about this game was that it was fairly short. It took me between 4 -5 hours to complete, but I can see how someone playing straight through might complete it in 3 hours. Having said that — it was so enjoyable that I would buy another game or sequel to this one by the same creators in a hot second!! You won’t be disapointed.
